Biography Born in 1987 to a woman once thought unable to conceive by many doctors, Prince Levy came in this world like a shining star, thus the name Prince. His mother named him Prince as she sees him as a true reflection of a miracle and nothing short. Prince spent his earlier childhood growing up in the green sides of Westmoreland Jamaica, specifically Roaring River District which is a heavenly place laden with caves, rivers and greenery. In his earlier years Prince Levy developed a strong love for music from the age of 7 years old. He was immediately picked out by the Sav-anna la Mar schools musical director when he was auditioned. Prince, after that entered the JCDC festival yearly school competition where he stamped his excellence on an annual basis.
Later on at the age of 11 years old Prince Levy was granted a scholarship to attend the Westmoreland Community Music School which was operated by a of graduate Alpha Academy Boys home and Edna Manley :Mr Clarke and Vocal teacher Miss Grant. From then on Prince Levy began learning the intricacies of musical sound which he trained in. He was awarded several Gold medals performing for his music school as a soloist and lead singer in his school choir which was Knockalva Technical at that point. All this time Prince was residing with his grandmother, Tabetha Clarke who made sure he was strongly rooted in the church as well.
As the years progressed Prince moved to the city of Kingston to live with his mother Dianna Patterson and enrolled in the St George’s College where he completed his 5th and 6th form diploma with honours. He then went on to The University of the West Indies where he completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Language Communication and Society. While doing this, fulfilling the role of a corporate soldier, prince Levy realised that he should be fighting for a different passion….. Music!!!
Due to this, he began doing vocal classes where he met Jay Edge, his Producer and it all started there, the music of Prince Levy that is. Since then, Prince has performed on Shows all over Kingston. Attempting to make his musical footprint, Prince Levy makes music through the beats of his soul. This was recognised by News Talk 93 FM which garnered him radio exposure with singles “Completely” and “Winery” for which a video was also made with polish dancehall Queen Ula Afro Fryc, featured on YouTube.
So now, Prince Levy is gearing up to release his album Prince Levy The Beginning which reflects a blend of music that is far beyond the norm (Reggae, Dancehall, Alternative soul and House Music) with 13 tracks.
